The Women in Renewable Energy (WIRE) Fellowship is a flagship leadership and technical development programme designed to strengthen the role of women in shaping the Caribbean’s sustainable energy future.
Hosted by the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE), the WIRE Fellowship supports early to mid-career women professionals working across the Caribbean energy sector through coaching, technical training, and regional collaboration.
Over a nine-month programme (April – November 2026), selected fellows will gain access to expert training, international networks, and collaborative learning opportunities designed to accelerate their leadership in the energy transition.
The programme forms part of CCREEE’s broader commitment to gender equality, regional capacity building, and a just and inclusive energy transition across the Caribbean.
The Women in Regional Energy (WIRE) Network is the Caribbean’s leading platform dedicated to advancing women’s leadership in the energy sector.
Founded in 2016, the network has grown to include more than 600 members across the Caribbean, supporting women through coaching, leadership development, and collaborative projects.
In 2025, WIRE transitioned to CCREEE, strengthening its institutional foundation and expanding its reach across CARICOM Member States and Associate Member States.
Under CCREEE’s leadership, WIRE is scaling its impact through:
These efforts support a more inclusive and resilient Caribbean energy sector, where women contribute to shaping policies, technologies, and investments that drive the region’s clean energy transition.
The WIRE Fellowship is designed to support early to mid-career women working in energy, climate, and related sectors across the Caribbean.
