Release of the 2018 start-up and SME showcase on decentralised energy in Africa

The Business Forum “Decentralised Energy in Developing Countries”, sheduled to take place on 2nd October 2018 in Vienna, Austria, features the release of the publication “Energy Access from the Bottom Up: Start-up and SME showcase 2018”. The Business Forum is jointly organized by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), with the support of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) under the umbrella of the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centers (GN-SEC). The Forum is being held in conjunction with the High-Level Conference on “Regional Cooperation to Accelerate Sustainable Energy Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Developing Countries” on 3rd October 2018 in Vienna, Austria.

During the  Forum, start-ups from Africa and Europe will exchange views and lessons learned on how to overcome barriers and make use of opportunities. The conclusions will be further discussed with financiers and investors in side event “Creating Opportunities for Sustainable Energy Investments and Businesses in Developing Countries”.
