This high-level event is a two-day joint initative of the EU and CARICOM/CARIFORUM, designed to foster partnerships between the EU, the Caribbean, development partners and the private sector. The event is expected to unfold the potential of the Caribbean region and leverage investment towards achieving the region’s ambitious renewable energy goals.

On the first day, the Prime Minister of Barbados His Excellency Freundel Stuart will lead the high level representation from the Caribbean countries. The Conference will present:
On the second day, the Business Opportunities Forum will highlight key areas of interest especially for the private sector in investing in renewable energy as well as energy efficiency.
By bringing together key figures in the development and energy field such as EU Commissioner Neven Mimica, SG of CARIFORUM Irwin LaRoque, PM of Barbados Freundel Stuart, DG of IRENA Adnan Amin, this event will be the ‘launch pad’ for a solid, long-term cooperation between the Caribbean and the EU in the sustainable energy arena.
