Regional Energy Apprenticeship Programme

The CCREEE, under the CARICOM Secretariat Energy Unit’s Regional Energy Apprenticeship Programme (REAP), is pleased to recruit three (3) qualified and motivated interns to join its team.

The purpose of the REAP is to provide a framework through which recent graduates and university students from diverse academic backgrounds may be assigned to respective regional institutions in the sustainable energy sector – in this case, the CCREEE – to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments. It allows the selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the institutions and provides assistance and training in professional fields that are either related to or can directly support the promotion and deployment of sustainable energy technologies and applications within CARICOM.

The CCREEE is currently recruiting interns for the following positions:

Applicants must download the application form and submit it to recruitment@ccreee.org along with the following documentation:

  • A curriculum vitae, no more than 90 days old, detailing the bio profile of the applicant, qualifications, relevant experience (where possible) and references;
  • A statement of philosophy, no longer than 500 words, indicating the reasons and motivation for participation in the Programme and interest in the area of preferred focus.

All applications must indicate the position being applied for in the e-mail subject line. Applications from all 15 CARICOM Member States are welcome; the CCREEE will cover the cost of return travel and accommodation for selected interns. Interns will also receive a stipend.

Application Deadline: Monday, Sep 07, 2020 11:59 pm

About REAP

The CARICOM Regional Energy Apprenticeship Programme (REAP) offers the opportunity of a minimum three (3) to maximum twelve (12) month paid internship at a pioneering sustainable energy institution in the Caribbean.

Successful candidates will gain valuable, on-the-job experience with relevant regional agencies and institutions directly and indirectly involved in the deployment of sustainable energy technologies and applications. In addition to practical training, successful candidates will benefit from mentorship support, networking and development opportunities geared at advancing technical competencies and enhancing prospects of employability across the regional energy sector.

REAP was conceptualised by the Energy Unit of the CARICOM Secretariat and is implemented by the Technical Assistance Programme for Sustainable Energy in the Caribbean (TAPSEC) through the financial support of the European Union.
